Anthony Constantinou - CEO - CWM FX Demonstrate Brexit May's Government No-confidence Vote Survival
Speaking outside 10 Downing Street in London on 16 January
2019, British Prime Minister Theresa May government survived a no-confidence
vote after the rejection of Brexit deal by lawmakers.
May will remain in office; however, her power recedes missing
as she fights to keep Brexit on the way after lawmakers knocked down her
European Union separation deal.
She won a fine victory, 325 votes to 306 votes, on
opposition movements looking for collapsing her government and setting off a
general election.
After beating the no-confidence movement, May said she would
still carry on talking with opposition's leaders and lawmakers to look for a
constructive way for Britain’s EU exit.
She invited all opposition leaders to conduct meeting
individually with her on the path forward for Brexit. The meeting will hold
tonight with the Westminster leaders of Labour, the Liberal Democrats, the SNP,
and Plaid Cymru with hope of constructive spirit.
May said "We have to come across negotiable solutions
and grasp enough support in this House". But Mr. Corbyn, who nominated the
no-confidence movement said that prior to any "positive discussions",
the British prime minister should exclude a no-deal Brexit.
He further added, "She should clearly remove the vision
of the disaster of a no-deal exit from the EU and all the disorder that would later
affect due to its consequences,".
All the opposition parties together with the Scottish
National Party and the Liberal Democrats supported Mr. Corbyn's no confidence
motion.
However, many MPs of Mr. Corbyn's party and other opposition
parties are now putting him under pressure to get at the back calls for an
advance EU referendum instead.
Ian Blackford, the leader of the SNP in Westminster said
after meeting with the British Prime Minister that she called for a "clear
gesture of good faith".
Vince Cable, the leader of the Liberal Democrats said it
would be "ridiculous not to talk" to the ruling party, however,
suggested Mr. Corbyn that he should get behind the "People's Vote"
and understand that he had lost his no-confidence motion.
International Trade Secretary Liam Fox, Laura Kuenssberg said,
"a society merger means no self-governing trade policy" that would
lead to a major decline in the profit of Brexit.
"According to May, Brexit has to mean Brexit, not a diverse
association that doesn't truly deliver on Brexit,"
Mrs. May repeated a promise to come again to the Commons on
Monday to give MPs an additional vote on her plans. She added, "The parliamentary
house has kept its belief in the ruling party", so "I am prepared to
work with any individual of this House to bring Brexit and gain the confidence
of the British people."
